To Marc P :
Dear Marc,
No, it is not ’nonsense",- we are defined ultimately by our work and our contributions,(- the 8 hours a man sleeps, the 2 or 3 hours he spends consuming food,- the time he spends travelling to work...all add up to zero.)
But what a man DOES with his life...the brave and the silly, the mistakes, the follies, the great achievements, all side by side,- this adds up to civilization.
Marc, how were the vaccines developed, the bridges designed, the magnificent French cuisine developed, the universities developed ,that French citizens use today ? Who created the tremendous literature, operas, symphonies, paintings, sculptures and beautiful buildings you enjoy ? Chefs, scientists, composers, military leaders, poets, novelists, architects , musicians, philosophers, all on ’guaranteed’ jobs ?
Did Louis Pasteur, Gounod, Napoleon, Balzac, Moliere, and Charles de Gaulle start their lives with a ’guaranteed’ job ? Would they have marched to Place d’Italie kicking and screaming against a law to give employers a 2 year opportunity to hire or fire a worker ?
Your memory is short, Marc !
Please, Let us not reduce France to a nation of faceless parasites !
