Claire,

I agree that christians are, most of the time considerate and thoughtful people. I am myself a practicing catholic. However, I am most interested in the US, and I have family in Virginia and Georgia.

I noticed that Pat Robertson had said : « The feminist agenda is not about equal rights for women. It is about a socialist, anti-family political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism, and become lesbians. »

He also said : « It is interesting, that termites don’t build things, and the great builders of our nation almost to a man have been Christians, because Christians have the desire to build something. He is motivated by love of man and God, so he builds. The people who have come into (our) institutions (today) are primarily termites. They are into destroying institutions that have been built by Christians, whether it is universities, governments, our own traditions, that we have.... The termites are in charge now, and that is not the way it ought to be, and the time has arrived for a godly fumigation. »

He recently stated that the US Administration should murder Hugo Chavez.

And Jerry Falwell said, after 9/11 :« The abortionists have got to bear some burden for this because God will not be mocked. And when we destroy 40 million little innocent babies, we make God mad. I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People for the American Way-all of them who have tried to secularize America-I point the finger in their face and say »you helped this happen."

I would like to remind you that Ervil LeBaron had 13 wives and something like 50 children. And that he was a murderous psychopath, who ordered the death a quite a number of people, including his brother and one of his wives.

As I said, I am pretty sure that most christians have no lack of real morals, since I am one (lol), but these people are actually influent.

And powerful.

Cordially,

Elias
