Yes, we are proud of our culture, because at least we have one (or many), contrary to your country, which is not as old as ours (but of course, God still bless America, we still wish you well, of course)

We don’t deny our roots, we debate furiously over many issues and, contrary to your country, we don’t hit below the belt (talking about obsession !). And when a French or European person speaks another language, it is perceived as an advantage (unlike in the States, let’s not forget Matt Rommey was “accused” of speaking French)

I live overseas (outside Europe) and, believe it or not, many foreigners are aware of “our” contribution to art, literature, etc., and even envy us our rebellious spirit..

Certainly not perfect, but alive and still kicking.
