Le GIEC (Groupe d’experts intergouvernemental sur l’évolution du climat) - ou en anglais IPCC The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change - sert d’expert officiel international sur le climat a été créé en 1988 à la demande du G7 sous la pression de Ronald Reagan et de Margaret Thatcher, personnages que personne n’imagine vraiment désintéressés, ni particulièrement philanthropes.

Le GIEC a été créé pour prouver que le changement climatique est d’origine anthropique, mais lorsque les conclusions sont posées avec la démonstration ce n’est plus de la science, d’autant plus que les biais peuvent être nombreux si l’on conjecture avec des modélisations statistiques.
