Mélusine ou la Robe de Saphir. Mélusine ou la Robe de Saphir. 8 septembre 2023 15:34

Eriofné est venu chez moi et j’ai les preuves de ce que j’avance.

Baltus stayed in Paris where he visited the circles of the artists of the symbolist group Rose-Croix , where he became friends with Joséphin Péladan , a Martinist and Rosicrucian . He left for Italy in 1896, where he met the German sculptor Adolf von Hildebrand . Baltus bought a house in Florence and, like von Hildebrand, he studied the painters of the Italian Renaissance . He married his daughter Sylvia von Hildebrand (188’-1926) in 1904.

He accepted a teaching position at the « School of Art » in Glasgow in 1905 . During his summer holiday in Sint-Truiden in 1914 , Baltus was surprised by the German invasion and did not return to Glasgow. He went to live in Brussels, where he would remain until 1936. In 1918 he was appointed teacher of painting at the Academy in Leuven and in 1924 at the Art School in Ixelles. He was appointed inspector of art education at the Academies in 1928.
